SERVICE CHARTER
MISSION
To protect witnesses and whistleblowers against threats, political harm, coercion, intimidations and or retaliation during investigation and pre-hearing, trial and post- trial; thereby facilitating their cooperation in legal proceedings.
VISION
To create enabling environment where whistleblowers and witnesses can disclose information or give testimonies respectively without fear of political harm, Coercion, intimidation and/or retaliation against their person or family members, thereby maintaining the credibility of the criminal justice process.
CORE VALUE Service, Trust, Integrity and Confidentiality
MANDATE
To ensure unimpeded pursuit of justice thereby maintaining the integrity of the witness testimonies in administering the witness protection program in collaboration with the Ministry of Justice and the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission. The Witness Protection Program will ultimately contribute to the fair and just adjudication of all cases that may post potential harm to witnesses and whistleblowers including drug traffickers, rapists, organized crime members and other major criminals, amongst others in three stages as follows:
- Investigation and Pre-hearing (Identity and Physical Protection, Temporary relocation, and safe-homes facilities)
- Hearing (Identity and Physical Protection, Psycho-social counselling and welfare services, temporary relocation/safe homes, legal services/assistance)
- Post-Trial (Legal assistance, continuous assessment of threat and risk level, permanent relocation where necessary, reintegration
